TEMPE, Ariz. — When he was hired to be Arizona State University's head football coach in 2022, Kenny Dillingham said the position was his dream job.
"This is literally home. Home," Dillingham said at his introductory press conference in 2022. "... I'm gonna be fired up to be here, fired up to be a Sun Devil."
It's a point he's reiterated numerous times—most recently amidst swirling rumors about leaving the desert for a coaching position in Michigan.
Dillingham is an eighth-generation Arizonan, a graduate of Chaparral High School, and an alumnus of ASU. He even married his high school sweetheart, who is also a Sun Devil, and started his coaching career at his high school alma mater before taking on his role at ASU.
