Birmingham men have one of the lowest average life expectancy rates in the West Midlands – but it's not the worst area.

Estimates were published by the Office for National Statistics.

Data was collected from births during 2024-24 and predicted which area had the lowest life expectancy rate.

With an estimate of 76.7 years, Sandwell was named the worst area of life expectancy for men in the region.

For Brummies, the average life expectancy for men was 77.1 years.
