Firefighters attempting to extinguish the fire in Dehradun's Selaqui Industrial Area.
A massive fire that broke out in the Selakui Industrial Area of Dehradun at around 2 pm on Saturday remained uncontrolled even after nearly four hours of firefighting efforts. The blaze erupted at Jai Shri Balaji Industry, a unit engaged in perfume manufacturing, and continued to pose serious challenges for emergency services late into the evening.
To control the fire, 12 to 13 fire tenders have been deployed along with nearly 120 fire brigade personnel and SDRF jawans. So far, approximately 80,000 litres of water have been sprayed on the site, yet the fire has not been fully doused. Continuous explosion-like sounds are being heard from inside the factory, while thick plumes of smoke are clearly visible
