THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary M V Govindan responded to queries regarding a possible alliance with Congress in Thiruvananthapuram to keep BJP out of power for the next five years. M.V. Govindan clarified that CPM would not agree to an alliance with Congress even if it helps the party to remain in power in Thiruvananthapuram. Govindan said the party would not join hands with either BJP or the Congress in Kerala in any effort to grab power.
"There has been no significant change in the LDF's traditional vote base. The UDF is making dire attempts, even to the extent of joining hands with communal forces. There are reports coming about Congress cross-voting in favour of BJP and vice versa.
Apart from winning the Thiruvananthapuram Municipality, there are no significant gains for BJP
