The Carolina Panthers grabbed a 10-7 halftime lead over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome thanks to a 40-yard field goal by Ryan Fitzpatrick with 21 seconds left in the half.
The Saints (3-10) scored on a 4-yard run by Devin Neal with 3:32 left in the second quarter. It capped an epic 17-play, 95-yard drive that took 11:22. The Panthers scored first on a 4-yard run by Rico Dowdle on the team's opening possession.
Neal had seven carries for 28 yards while quarterback Tyler Shough was eight of 11 for 79 yards. Neal left the game after his touchdown with a hamstring injury.
The Panthers (7-6) will get the ball to start the second half.
