FOXBOROUGH — There was a lot on the line at Gillette Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
With a win over the Bills, the Patriots would clinch their first AFC East title 2019, Tom Brady’s final season with the team. Before the game, Drake Maye spoke of the importance of dispatching Buffalo with the first chance New England had.
“It’s really important to do it here,” Maye said Wednesday. “We’ve got a chance to face them head-to-head. There’s no better way to win the division than with the team that’s fighting to crawl back and to keep themselves as division champs.”
That didn’t happen.
