DAVIESS CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Even more Tri-State students have wrapped up their first day of school.
Daviess County’s Meadow Land Elementary seemed to have a fun day.
The school’s mascot was there to greet students
Officials say the kids were happy to be at school and see their teachers and friends.
Even some grandparents were on pick up duty when school let out.
“We get to know how their day went and keep in the loop of what they’re doing and how everything’s going for them,” says one family. “I enjoy that and we pick up our own kids when they were in school and stuff and that way they didn’t have to ride the bus.”
New in Kentucky elementary schools this year, Kentucky Senate Bill 1-67.
This means your students will be required to learn cursive writing as part of the new curriculum.
