GRANT PARISH, La. (KALB) - A woman from Many was arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the Federal Prison, according to the Grant Parish Sheriff’s Office.

GPSO said Franchessca Deshay Smith, 37, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of synthetic marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and taking contraband into a penal institution.

Just six days ago, a Federal Prison employee was also arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the facility. There have been at least 32 arrests in 2025 involving drugs smuggled into the facility.
