ROCKVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) -- A death investigation is underway after a woman was found off a roadway in Montgomery County on Wednesday night, according to Maryland State Police.

Just before 10:20 p.m., Maryland State Troopers said they responded to the outer loop of Interstate 495 to the American Legion Bridge for a welfare check. Troopers arrived and found an abandoned silver Toyota 4Runner on the right shoulder.

A woman was then found lying below the interstate along MacArthur Boulevard. She was identified as 36-year-old Madina Rhine and pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, Rhine had an accidental fall.

The scene was processed for evidence, and officers from the Montgomery County Police Department also responded.
