PAHOA, Hawai'i (Island News) -- Pāhoa High and Intermediate School went into lockdown on Wednesday following an anonymous threat made online.
Police are actively investigating the incident, which marks the second reported threat against the school in just one week.
School officials took immediate action to secure the campus and ensure student safety. In a letter sent to parents, Principal Kim Williamson confirmed the lockdown was a response to the latest threat and urged families to speak with their children about the seriousness of making or sharing threats—especially online.
While the investigation continues, both school officials and police are working to determine the source of the threat. No further details about the nature of the threat or possible suspects have been released.
