A permit to reduce the street side yard setback from 20 feet to 16 feet and the rear setback from 30 feet to 24 feet for a garage addition at a south Tempe home is to be discussed at Tuesday’s meeting of the Tempe Development Review Commission.
The commission meets for a study session at 5:30 p.m. and a meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 26 in the Tempe City Council Chambers, 31 E. Fifth St.
Applicant Fine Line Designs is seeking the permit to construct a single-bay garage addition to the west side of a home at 1307 E. Greentree Drive.
“The owner would like a garage to fit his vehicle as the existing garage is too small. There is a hardship with a corner street side lot as the setback is typical(ly) more restrictive than an interior lot,” Scott Merritt, Fine Line Designs residential designer, said
