Another place to shop for shut-eye may be on the way to Maricopa.

Scottsdale-based developer SimonCRE wants to bring Mattress Firm to the city by renovating a 3,400-square-foot building near the Shops at Maricopa Village, according to documents released yesterday to InMaricopa .

The building, located on the northwest corner of Hathaway Avenue and John Wayne Parkway, formerly housed Sun Life Family Health Center . The developers propose installing a new storefront with more windows and more attractive landscaping.

The property would otherwise “retain a current architectural styling that complements the city of Maricopa,” a project narrative read.

Future customers could access the site from existing driveways on Hathaway Avenue and would keep the current 18 parking spaces.
