OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Danhauer Drugs, the oldest pharmacy in the city and still operated by the same family, was recently sold.

To Owensboro residents, Danhauer Drugs is just a local pharmacy at the corner of 4th and Fredrica.

But to owner Jeff Danhauer, it’s family.

It’s been family-owned since 1904, when Jeff’s grandfather started the business.

“For 120 years, we’ve been trying to service Owensboro, take care of the patients here and the surrounding area,” Jeff said.

Until recently, when Jeff sold it to owner Saibabu Appalaneni out of New York.

“It’s been a great privilege to follow in my father’s and grandfather’s footsteps,” Jeff said. “I’m just getting to the point where I want to relax a little bit.”
