The Taos County Sheriff's Office took a suspect into custody following a fatal shooting that took place in a residential area several miles east of Taos around midnight on Saturday.

Sheriff Steve Miera told the Journal deputies were dispatched to a residence on Toda Vista Road near Lower Las Colonias in El Prado early Saturday morning in reference to a shooting.
