SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Sioux City Geek Con saw people from all over Siouxland coming together in the Sioux City Convention Center to play hundreds of different games.
This year it started Friday, Aug. 22, from 12 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. and ended on Sunday, Aug. 24, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m.
The event is put on each year by the Sioux City Tabletop Gamers, a local non-profit organization.
Bart Miller, the president and founder of Sioux City Tabletop Gamers, said the event is family-friendly, and all children in high school or younger get in free.
“We’ve had very excellent turnout,” said Miller, “...[because] the weather’s nice and having kids free. We have our kid zone. It’s been really good and happening, with kids winning prizes and playing games and getting to explore the hobby
