Industry Appreciation Day was Saturday at the Kenai Park Strip, a free, family-friendly event honoring the industries that power the Kenai Peninsula’s economy.
Over 30 booths offered free giveaways, while visitors enjoyed live music, games, food, and contests like the fishnet pull and frozen t-shirt contest. The Kaknu Kruzers’ car show also returned for its third year.
“We had a lot of fun over the years, and the people have appreciated it. We wanted to make this event free for everybody. We didn’t want there to be any cost,” says Organizer Tim Navarre.
Several local businesses and individuals were recognized for their contributions with awards presented by local dignitaries.
