THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A Bronx teacher’s aide has been accused of possessing and transporting child pornography, according to Homeland Security Investigations.

Immigration agents stopped 47-year-old Alejandro Santos, who worked for the New York City Department of Education for 23 years, inside John F. Kennedy International Airport on July 15 after he returned from the Dominican Republic. Santos’ cellphone allegedly contained thousands of photos and videos of child sex abuse material, according to HSI.

“This alleged behavior is extremely concerning and unacceptable. This employee was suspended immediately following their arrest, and if convicted, we will pursue termination,” the New York City DOE told PIX11 News in a statement.
