HOMER — The Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly has unanimously approved the purchase of four properties in Homer on behalf of the South Kenai Peninsula Hospital Service Area, following a public hearing that raised concerns about landslide risks near the hospital.

The ordinance, passed 9–0 on Aug. 19, authorizes the acquisition of four parcels totaling just over $2 million, funded through the South Peninsula Hospital Plant Replacement and Expansion Fund. The properties include two lots in the Homer Medical District, an office building in the Central Business District, and a nearly five-acre vacant parcel behind the hospital.
