HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) -- Artificial intelligence is everywhere, including the classroom. After testing it out last year, Horry County Schools is using an AI program to lighten the load for teachers.
Amid the rise of AI programs like Chat GPT, the debate over artificial intelligence is ongoing, especially when it comes to the classroom. Through an AI program called Magic School, Horry County Public Schools is hoping to make teachers' jobs easier.
"It will make them more efficient. It will make their planning more efficient," Interim Chief Academics Officer Lee James said. "It will make their differentiation more efficient. It will do a lot of the work that will take teachers hours to do."
HCS is using Magic School to help teachers create personalized assignments and lesson plans.
