CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two parents have been charged with bringing weapons to Palisades High School's campus as students headed back to school on Monday.

Regina Marie Mungin, 38, and Miquel Anione-Umeek Williams, 43, both of Rock Hill, S.C., were arrested and booked into the Mecklenburg County Detention Center, but have since been released on a written promise to appear.

According to court documents, Mungin was charged with felony bringing a gun on educational property and misdemeanor bringing a weapon on educational property. Court records say she had a Walter P22 handgun and a white box cutter in her possession.

Williams was charged with misdemeanor bringing a weapon on educational property that wasn't a gun. According to court records, he had a pocket knife.
