The east and west sides of Riverbanks Zoo and Garden are being connected via an aerial gondola with a hopeful opening date around Labor Day pending weather delays.
The Saluda Skyride crosses over the Saluda River transporting zoo passengers in a four-minute ride bringing innovation, energy efficiency and a state-of-the-art fun ride to the zoo. The aerial ride is a part of phase two of the Bridge to the Wild initiative. Bridge to the Wild is an initiative that has brought and continues bringing innovation to the zoo. Other projects apart of Bridge to the Wild have included: Darnall W. and Susan F. Boyd Aquarium Conservation Center and the white rhino habitat in phase one.
