A New York man has been arrested on charges including aggravated rape of a child and enticing a child under 16 in Massachusetts, police said Tuesday.

Geoffrey I. Gerber, 29, was arrested in New York on a warrant out of Bridgewater, then brought to Massachusetts earlier this month, Bridgewater police said. He is also charged with posting or exhibiting a child in a sexual act, disseminating obscene matter to a minor and obscene telephone calls or electronic communications.

The monthslong investigation leading to the charges against Gerber began when the alleged victim contacted police, the department said. They didn't share more details on the crimes the Hicksville man allegedly committed.
