BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) - The Cleveland Browns officially terminated the contract of veteran kicker Dustin Hopkins on Tuesday.

Barring another addition at the kicker position, Andre Szmyt has made the initial 53-man roster.

Szmyt was signed by the Browns during the offseason and competed during OTAs and minicamp, as well as training camp.

During the preseason, Szmyt made all three of his field goal attempts. That includes a 37-yard game-winner against the Rams last Saturday in the preseason finale.

Hopkins struggled during the preseason, missing a pair of extra points for the Browns. He also struggled during the 2024 campaign, connecting on just 18-27 field goal attempts and 17-20 extra points.
