Maricopa Police Department wants parents to take a hard look at Roblox, the blockbuster gaming platform that’s become a centerpiece of kids’ online lives — and, increasingly, of lawsuits and national headlines .

In a public-safety alert issued this afternoon, MPD released a list of more than 30 apps they say parents should know about. Roblox was placed first. The department’s guide warns of in-game chat that can connect children to strangers, sexually explicit “condo” games, in-app purchases vulnerable to scams and even kids using in-game building signs to communicate when text chat is blocked.
