HARTFORD, Conn. — Sen. Richard Blumenthal is launching a new investigation into the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency for actions that he called "abusive and unlawful."
Blumenthal, the ranking member of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, shared last week he would launch an investigation after State Rep. Corey Paris (D- Stamford) received death threats following a post he made on social media that was reposted by ICE.
In that post, Paris told people to stay vigilant and stay safe after ICE was reported to be in his district of Stamford. ICE reposted his message, implying he was interfering with their operations. The post was viewed hundreds of thousands of times.
