VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— Tuesday evening, a prayer vigil was held for Tasha Bezy at Gregg Park in Vincennes.

We spoke with Tasha's sister, Teah Helderman, and she said her sister went in for a routine hernia surgery last Thursday. Due to complications with the surgery, Helderman said they nicked an artery, but it has since been fixed.

Tasha is currently in the hospital, and her family is waiting for her to wake up.

"She is currently off of sedatives and we are just waiting for her to wake up. We need her to wake up so we can assess her brain damage and see how far of rehabilitation that we have to go," Helderman said.

Tasha's family is asking for prayers from the community for her recovery. Here is a link to the family's GoFundMe.
