MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — After months of campaigning, debates, and forums, the numbers are in, and Mobile does not have a clear winner for mayor — yet.
Barbara Drummond will face Spiro Cheriogotis in a runoff on Sept. 23. Drummond received 13,897 votes, and Cheriogotis earned 11,389 votes. The two took a clear lead over Paul Prine, who got 8,186 votes, and Connie Hudson, who got 7,722 votes.
Drummond has served in the Alabama House of Representatives for the last decade. Prior to that, she served in Mobile Mayor Sam Jones' administration and was a reporter for the Mobile Press-Register.
