It was a beautiful day yesterday! Many spots saw sunshine, low 80s, and low humidity in the afternoon. Typical hot and dry August weather was nowhere to be found, and it'll remain missing for a few days yet.
We'll start the day sunny today, but clouds will steadily increase through midday and the afternoon. Light to moderate rain showers may begin to move into Western Missouri late this afternoon, spreading east across Southwest Missouri and Northern Arkansas this evening.
The rain will intensify into Thursday morning before tapering off from northwest to southeast by Thursday afternoon. The rain is thanks to a weak warm front lifting into the Ozarks today. This will increase moisture in the Ozarks, and a passing upper-level storm will squeeze more moisture from the atmosphere.
