CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — An officer and another person were injured in a shooting involving Chillicothe police early Wednesday morning.

The Chillicothe Police Department said the shooting happened in the 300 block of East Main Street at 1 a.m. Details on the shooting were not provided.

Police said the officer sustained injuries that were not life-threatening. They were transported to Adena Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The other person, who police described as a male, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. He was later transported to Grant Medical Center for treatment.

Chillicothe police requested the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation to investigate the shooting.
