NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — A mother was arrested Tuesday in Norwalk after her one-year-old child was found unresponsive at a home in July, according to police.

The incident happened on July 12. A one-year-old child was unconscious, limp and not breathing when officers arrived. As life-saving measures were performed, the child soon began to vomit water, clear the airway and gasp for air. Within moments, the child regained consciousness and began to cry, police said.

The infant was transported to Norwalk Hospital where they made a full recovery.

Investigation revealed that the child had been left unattended in a kiddie pool along with another child at the time of the incident. The baby's mother, 26-year-old Carla Sanchez, was arrested on Tuesday after turning herself in on an active warrant.
