Hope Leyba is reaping the rewards of her torrid start to the season.

On Wednesday, Leyba was named the co-winner of the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week award after putting together a historic performance in a pair of wins for the Colorado women’s soccer team.

Leyba began the week by scoring three goals in a 7-1 rout of Fordham, posting the eighth hat trick in team history. The junior forward extended her season-opening goal-scoring streak to four games in CU’s shutout win against UNC Greensboro, adding a pair of goals.

Leyba is the first CU player to score seven goals through the first four games of the season, topping a mark previously shared by Tatum Barton (six goals in the first four games of 2018) and Anne Stuller (2012).
