CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Over three dozen monitors have been installed across Cincinnati’s neighborhoods to monitor the city’s air quality, a tricky issue the region has faced for well-over a century now.
In an effort to educate residents and improve air quality by 2028, the Cincinnati Health Department and the Office of Environment and Sustainability collaborated to create the Cincy Air Watch Project - a subset of the 2023 Green Cincinnati Plan.
The initiative includes the installation of the PurpleAir Flex Monitors , which collects data that appears online, allowing people to access information about the city’s air quality whenever they want. Each monitor costs $289 in addition to a power supply that is sold separately for $45 (tot
