SOUTH BLOOMFIELD — A new wave of shopping and dining options is on the horizon for South Bloomfield residents as construction begins on a retail strip center at the corner of Northup Avenue and Union Street.

The development, called Union Station , will feature four retail units designed to host a mix of restaurants, shops, and service-based businesses. Construction is already underway, with an anticipated opening date of January 2026 .

One of the four units has already been leased to a full-service nail salon, which is expected to open shortly after the center’s completion. The business will not only expand local beauty and wellness options but will also create new job opportunities for area residents.
