CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Citing a victim’s privacy law, the city of Cincinnati’s prosecutor wants a judge to seal records detailing the criminal case against a victim now charged in the Downtown melee.

Doug Bannon, who represents Alex Tchervinski, said he filed a motion to oppose it.

“I can’t explain why the city brings a charge and then wants to try to conceal it at the same time,” he said Tuesday. I think that this is something that needs to be aired to the public."

He also said he is unaware of what basis the city made the disorderly conduct charge: “It’s not been explained to me by any prosecutor.”

A city spokeswoman said the records are not being released at this time due to Marsy’s Law.
