The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has launched the Long-Range Transportation Plan 2055 (LRTP 2055), a 30-year blueprint for the state’s transportation future. Alaskans are invited to share their experiences and ideas to help shape the plan.

Covering travel by road, air, water, rail, bike, and foot, the LRTP will guide investments focused on safety, mobility, resilience, and economic growth.

DOT&PF officials say it aims to reflect local needs while responding to global shifts in climate, trade, and technology.

“Alaska’s transportation system is our link to the world,” said DOT&PF Commissioner Ryan Anderson. “We want this plan to reflect local voices.”

Alaskans can participate by submitting transportation “user stories” and signing up for updates.
