PORTLAND, Ore. - The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) has lifted the health advisory for recreational use at Odell Lake in Klamath County.
According to OHA, recent water monitoring shows cyanotoxin levels are now below recreational guidelines for humans. However, they remain above safe levels for dogs, so pet owners are advised to keep their pets away from the lake.
OHA urges visitors to be vigilant for signs of cyanobacteria blooms. These blooms can appear and disappear when conditions are right. While only a few water bodies in Oregon are monitored, it's crucial to recognize bloom signs and symptoms.
People, especially children, and pets should avoid water that looks foamy, scummy, or has unusual colors. Activities like swimming or high-speed water sports should be avoided in these areas
