CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Cincinnati mayoral candidate Cory Bowman says the city needs a strong police force starting at the top of the department following another West End shooting.
On Tuesday, Cincinnati police said a 71-year-old man was shot at Clark and Linn Street around 6 p.m.
Residents in the area of the shooting said they heard dozens of gunshots.
The gunfire came a half mile away from CPD’s District 1 and not far from where the Taft High School football team was practicing.
“Taft High School was practicing football,” a resident explained. “There was 50 people at Sturgill Stadium when the shots rang out.”
Now, West End neighbors are pleading for city intervention as they say crime continues to grow in their neighborhood.
