WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) -- A man is in custody after police said he was found in possession of "a significant amount of narcotics," including fentanyl and crack cocaine, in Willimantic on Wednesday morning.

According to the Willimantic Police Department, at around 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, an officer was conducting traffic enforcement near ACT Magnet School on Main Street on the first day of school when they pulled a driver over on Bridge Street.

The driver, identified as 49-year-old Jewel Danyel Hurt, was found in possession of 80 bags of suspected purple fentanyl, three grams of suspected crack cocaine and one gram of suspected cocaine, according to police.
