BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The new health and wellness resource center at Martin Luther King Jr. Park is slated to have a room named after Valley Strong Credit Union, following a $1 million payment from the credit union to the city of Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield City Council agenda, MLK Park located at 1000 S. Owens St. in Bakersfield is in the beginning stages of renovation and construction to “meet local recreational demands, attract and accommodate regional, state and national athletic competitions.”
The Martin Luther King Jr. Health and Wellness Resource Center is meant to improve residents’ health and physical fitness, the agenda said.
