EVANS, Ga. (WJBF) - Columbia County employees were recognized for their years of service on Wednesday.
The event was held at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center on Aug. 27
Many guests were in attendance, including county commissioners, the sheriff and local judges.
"They do a lot of work behind the scenes that we as citizens take for granted, whether it's roads and bridges, our safety, fire they are just unsung heroes and there worth getting recognized at least once a year and that's what we try to do," said Jeff Carney, Human Resources Director.
WJBF NewsChannel 6's own Barclay Bishop was the emcee for the event and announced the names of employees and their years of service. Retirees were also recognized at the event.
