BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) - Police are still searching for a Vermont teen who went missing on the eve of Tropical Storm Irene, 14 years ago today.

Marble Arvidson, 17, was last seen on Aug. 27, 2011, leaving his Brattleboro home.

Arvidson was an avid hiker, and police believe he could have been a victim of Tropical Storm Irene, which was bearing down on the region.

On the anniversary of all missing persons cases, Vermont State Police use social media to get the word out.

“Partly to ensure that those cases remain visible to the public and that there is continued public awareness about it, and also to bring a measure of acknowledgement to that individual and that individual’s family that they are still front of mind,” said Adam Silverman of the Vermont State Police.
