WASHINGTON, D.C. (WMBD) -- U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth (D-IL.) and Dick Durbin (D-IL.) announced on Wednesday that millions in funding are coming to central Illinois airports.
A total of $8,293,999 in funding for infrastructure improvements has been allocated to central Illinois airports, a joint news release from the senators said.
That funding will include $500,1750 for the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington and $7,640,698 for the General Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport.
“Illinois’s airports are critical economic engines for our state and the source of jobs for so many working families,” Duckworth said.
