CHEROKEE, Iowa (KCAU) — A new candidate has entered the race for Iowa's Fourth Congressional District; Democrat Dave Dawson announced his candidacy for Congress on Wednesday in Cherokee.

Dawson, of Lawton, Iowa, made the announcement surrounded by supporters at the Cherokee Public Library.

Dawson served as a prosecutor at the Woodbury County Attorney's office for 18 years and also ran his own law office for five years.
