COLUMBIA, S.C. — Some Columbia residents say they’ve recently noticed more warnings and citations for parking the wrong way on their streets.
What might feel like a habit could cost drivers a $25 ticket and it's not something new that's being enforced, the city says.
Jim Morris, who lives in Columbia, says he was caught off guard when he received a citation.
“Yeah for parking facing the wrong direction, and I was irritated, but I get it, it’s illegal,” he said. Morris added that on his quiet street, “Nobody really parks here but us, so the likelihood of having some type of problem was pretty low.”
