LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- An overhaul of Charleston around Decatur boulevards is causing slowdowns for drivers and businesses.
Storm drain, sewer, and multiple other road upgrades are under construction through the fall of 2026. In the meantime, Charleston Boulevard, between Arville Street and Decatur Boulevard, is reduced to one lane in each direction.
On Wednesday, around 11:30 a.m., driving from Valley View to Jones Boulevard took about 12 minutes on Charleston Boulevard. The same drive took four minutes on Sahara Avenue.
For drivers, it’s an annoyance, but for business owners along the construction, it’s a different story.
“It's really bad, it's been a nightmare, honestly,” Lizeth Franco, owner of Las Vegas Crepe said.
Franco said that since the construction started in February, sales a
