EAST FLATBUSH, Brooklyn (PIX11) — In just days, steel pan bands in the city will face off in the annual New York Panorama competition — a cherished tradition leading up to the annual West Indian American Day Carnival.

The steady rhythm of steel pan drums echoed through East Flatbush as the Pan Alley Steel Orchestra prepared for a celebration of culture, community, and Caribbean pride at this year’s Panorama competition.
