BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — It’s move-in day for the Harrison family—Brooklyn parents, both educators, and their six young children—who finally have a new place to call home.

In July, the Harrisons contacted PIX11 News for assistance. Their NYCHA apartment at the Farragut Houses was falling apart—crumbling walls, a broken kitchen, and unsafe conditions for a growing family.

PIX11’s Monica Morales visited them, and viewers quickly fell in love with the family—especially Jameelah Harrison, the eldest daughter, who confidently declared her dreams during our first visit.

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” Morales asked.

“A hero!” Jameelah responded, smiling. “Mission accomplished.”
