CHARLESTON — An adaptive reuse project that was to modernize the office and retail market on upper reaches of King Street is getting a major overhaul less than 10 years after its first makeover.

Locals and visitors can look forward to more retail and dining options, and less traditional work space, throughout Pacific Box and Crate’s 10-acre footprint.

The mixed-use project on Charleston’s upper peninsula Neck area was heralded as a vibrant new technology hub that refashioned office culture with open-concept spaces, adjoining restaurants and a brewery, outdoor patios, and ample greens for events and taking dogs to work.
