The parent company of several cannabis brands heralded the end of Michigan’s marijuana boom when it announced it is pulling out of the state, but it made up just a fraction of the layoffs that happened in August.

Here are the five Michigan companies that planned layoffs this month. The list is based on Federal Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notices filed with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.

The WARN Act requires businesses to provide advance notice - at least 60 days - in cases of qualified plant closings and mass layoffs.
