LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Lubbock High will kick off the Texas high school football season in our area, hosting Hereford.

This also kicks off KCBD’s Thursday Night Throwdown, the first of nine games we will broadcast this season.

After going 3-7 last season, the Lubbock High Westerners enter their 4th season under Head Coach Juan Rodriguez. The team will be much improved on both sides of the ball.

“One goal in mind, and that’s to continue to change the culture,” Coach Rodriguez said. “Move forward, grow our numbers, grow our program!”

The Westerners developed more speed. The team unity is strong and the goal is to continue to grow the numbers and keep building the culture. Watch our Pigskin Preview:
